Udo (Judo / Jiu-Jitsu) Korean & Japanese style Udo is a strong form of self defense that uses an opponent’s force against them. The practice of Udo increases understanding of how ones own body moves and how to create leverage to move, flip or throw a much larger foe. Udo form is soft, and develops proper falling techniques without injury by keeping the body supple and flexible, developing coordination and strength. The opponent’s strength is used against them.
The practitioner can use Udo for powerful self defense to end a confrontation in one movement. The practitioner can choose to damage his foe by dropping an enemy on his head or to instead just drop him on his back. Oom Yung Doe style Udo also teaches how to escape a throw or to reverse it. The body becomes supple and you must first learn how to fall safely and learn how to jump and dive and roll. Then you can safely work with your practice partners and can learn to flip and throw one another.
