I Haven’t Felt This Good About Myself in 10 years

I signed up for the International Training program on faith. Faith in my Instructor, Assistant National Instructor Rich and faith in the Moo Doe Moral beliefs. My only concern was making myself practice at home, which I rarely did.

I also signed up because I am in excellent health for someone 50 plus, besides being overweight and out of shape. Although I felt I would be able to keep up after being in Chung Moo Doe for 2 ½ years and reaching 4th section.

The results have exceeded my expectations. I “did” make myself practice the movements designed for my body type from the National Instructors.

At the same time I began the program I started losing weight under a doctor’s care.

I faithfully practiced my movements and attended the 3 International training sessions a month which left little time for regular lessons because of my own scheduling conflicts.

It wasn’t until I attended a regular lesson that I realized the improvements I had been making. My Instructor hadn’t seen me for several weeks and couldn’t believe the change in my body. Not only that, he had to call his Instructor to ask how to instruct me.

Just that little encouragement from Instructor Todd boosted my confidence and self worth tremendously. I then noticed I was kicking higher and bending lower during my lessons. I even jumped a little. I have since lost 20 pounds and been able to pick up movements quicker. I haven’t felt this good about myself in 10 years.

Thank You Moo Doe!

My Stamina is better, My Mind Sharper

I began my training in January, 2002 as a new white belt student. Having led mostly a sedentary lifestyle until that point, I was more than a little nervous about what I had undertaken at Oom Yung Doe. It was clear that my training was going to be a very challenging experience and at age 49, I wasn’t sure that I had the stamina or strength to succeed. In the beginning, everything hurt. I was tired and had to really push through each lesson synthroid pill. Also, my body could only tolerate training sessions 3 times a week. However, the National Instructors, Regional Instructors, Instructors, Assistant Instructors and students could not have been more supportive and encouraging. There was a team behind me.

After only a few months, I could tell that my body and mind were changing. My stamina was much better, my mind sharper and I felt that this was going to work. Eventually I worked up to my current schedule of coming 5 times a week and sometimes twice a day. I also participate in the Sae Gae offerings and every international lesson that is given. I now look forward to each lesson with enthusiasm. Yes, there are still injuries, pains and strains but that is secondary. I know that I have a lifetime of learning ahead of me, which is one of the attractions. The more I learn, the more humbled I feel. But, at the same time, I am feeling more confident that my body and mind are now improving rather than deteriorating as I grow older. That is a rather remarkable thing!

My body is becoming more flexible, stronger and my mind is more at peace than I have felt in many years. As a side benefit, I’ve lost 30 pounds without even trying to lose weight.

I summed it up best just a few nights ago to a group of fellow students: The more I come, the better I feel – both physically and mentally. There were nods around the changing room. Everyone there knew and agreed with what I was saying. I want to express my deep appreciation and thanks for the dedication of all Oom Yung Doe Instructors.

Kids Can Not Keep Up With Me

I have been training for nearly a year and have never felt better than I do right now. I am stronger and far more confident than I have ever been. As a nanny of four, I was discouraged to realize at 22 years old I was having trouble keeping up with the kids. Now after 11 months of training, the kids can’t keep up with me.

As well as the changes I have experienced physically, I have noticed a change in how I view things. I was very much an “I Can’t!” person for the majority of my life. I didn’t have much faith in my abilities, and was often second-guessing myself. Since I began training I noticed little by little that I was becoming much more of an “I Can.” person. If an instructor told me to do something, I no longer hesitated or wondered if I could do it, over time I just did it. Whether it was how high I could jump or how low I could get into a position I learned to trust my instructors as well as myself.
This quickly spilled out into my life helping me to become more of the self-sufficient, confident woman that I now am.

What most impressed me about Oom Yung Doe was that not only was I learning from skilled instructors, I was also given personal attention and instruction from Regional, National and International Level Instructors. Of all the martial arts that I looked into and attempted there were none that offer so much.

I have had the privilege of attending three International Level lessons since I began training and have been amazed at what I have learned. Each of the instructors knows who I am and where I am in my training. This multi-leveled attention and guidance has been a key factor in my progress as a student over the last eleven months. I can’t wait to see what the next year of training will have in store for me.

Best Investment I Ever Made

My name is Robert Wysong and I am a twenty-six year old graduate student in physics, and will graduate this summer with my doctorate. What is special about this is I will graduate one year before expected, due to the benefits of my Oom Yung Doe training.

Working towards my doctorate was very stressful. My health was generally poor, and I was often sick. In order to relax and improve my health, I tried several types of exercise, including weight lifting, but was never satisfied with the results. The exercises I tried were time consuming and often left me with sore joints and little energy. Because of these reasons, and the fact that the exercises were relatively boring, I found it hard to continue on a regular schedule.

Since there was an Oom Yung Doe school close to my university, I decided to stop in for a free demonstration to see if it could help. I was not willing to invest much time, since I was busy with my research, but I needed some form of exercise. I very quickly learned, however, that the more I practiced, the more effectively I could use my time.

The benefits I have gained from Oom Yung Doe training apply to every aspect of my life. The physical benefits of speed, coordination and strength are just part of these. I feel more healthy in general, and in fact, I have not been sick since I began my training. Also, for the first time in my life, my eyesight has actually improved.

Memorizing movements and forms has improved my concentration greatly in a very short period of time. By challenging myself mentally and physically through Oom Yung Doe, I have developed a different outlook and become more creative, able to handle any challenge that comes up in my daily life. The confidence I have gained through training has given me self respect I never had before, and enables me to use my skills and abilities to the maximum benefit.

As such, I have accomplished as much in the past 8 months since I started my training as I have in the previous three years before I started Oom Yung Doe. One of these accomplishments, the development of the fastest magnetic resonance imaging technique in the world, has set me apart from others with similar abilities, and I owe this to the confidence gained through my Oom Yung Doe training.

Considering the cost of tuition for a year and the increase in my salary, I will make more than $51,000 during the first year that I would not otherwise make if I were still in school. Even if it was not for he monetary gain, Oom Yung Doe would still be the best investment I have ever made in myself. I have gained a quality of life I never knew before, and what is more important than yourself? Even for the short time I have been training, I am realizing the potential of my mind and body, and am truly happier now than I have ever been in my life.

My Oom Yung Doe training has given me the confidence to accomplish all these things, and given me the determination to strive for even more. I cannot properly do justice to what I have gained, nor can I truly show my appreciation to my instructors for their concern that went far beyond teaching movements. It is my hope that others will see for themselves what Oom Yung Doe training can do for them. There is not one person who would not benefit from this as well.

I never knew it was possible to feel this well

Thinking back as I prepare for my Black Belt test to the beginning of my time practicing Oom Yung Doe is to realize how great I feel. I believe it is safe to say, “I never knew it was possible to feel this well.” The movements have made me strong physically. I began the program with a goal of increasing …

Holistic Healing

Thinking back on the reasons why I first decided to try out Oom Yung Doe, I think the reason was really simple. I think I was only looking to try out a second form of martial art that sounded cool so that it can help sharpen my skills so that way I won’t embarrass myself if I do decide to …

Moo Doe… It is the best gift I have ever given myself

Moo Doe is different than exercise. It is unique in the fact that it is structured individually for each person who chooses to follow its path. It does not matter if you are 8 years old or 80 years old. I have been surprised, not only at the reparative changes in myself and other students, but that I can clearly witness the healthy changes that may prevent or diminish illness in myself and my fellow students.
